Foods and Health!

Thank you Mrs. Karen for donating new dress up clothes for our classroom!
As you can see, they are very popular!

To continue our fall theme, we counted candy corn pieces and matched them to the correct number.  The best part about this activity is that we were able to eat them when we finished!

While learning about foods and keeping our bodies healthy, we pretended to cook different foods.

Look at that smile!

One of our favorite new songs we sing at school helps us
learn how to write numbers 1-10.

As a group, we learned which food pictures are healthy and
which are unhealthy for our bodies.

I am so proud of this class!  They really love independent learning center time each day.  Here are some photos of what kinds of fun learning activities they are doing.

Fine motor activities are so important for kiddos this age.  Teaching our brains how to move our fingers and hands will help us learn to write and learn as we grow.

Wow!  Mrs. Kelly even let us "cook" in the sensory table!  We made quite a mess, but boy was it worth it!  We scooped, measured, kneaded and created all kinds of foods with our special "dough".

This week we learned about the letter "N".  We even used our fine motor skills when gluing noodles to the "N".

We also learned about squares.
Ask your child to sing our fun shape song to you at home!

"Sammy Square"
(Tune: Are You Sleeping)

Sammy Square, Sammy Square,
That's my name, that's my name,
I have four sides, I have four sides,
They're all the same, they're all the same.

Pumpkins, Halloween & Our Bodies!

Check out the GIANT book we read about pumpkins!

Using our senses, we explored the inside and outside of the pumpkin.

Thank you so much to the Lafayette Fire Department and Firefighter Brandon for teaching us all about fire safety!  We are so blessed to have people like them in our lives!

See?  Even after Firefighter Brandon wears all of this gear, he still isn't scary!

Remember to stay low when there is smoke.

Hugs for Firefighter Brandon!  Thank you!

Wow!  Look at that shiny red firetruck!

We even took a tour of the truck!

We have been working very hard in our individual learning centers.  Look at some of the different stations we've had lately.

Can you believe this?  Every single little learner is working quietly in his/her own learning station.  Wow!  I am so proud of them for following directions and staying on task!  These are not easy things to do when you are three!

At circle time, we cut open a pumpkin to learn about a pumpkin's insides.

Happy Halloween!
I must say, we had the cutest trick-or-treaters in the world in our class.  We had so much FUN!

Thank you, Noah for making me such a neat mask!

Our little spiders are just as darling as can be!

Costumes didn't stop us from going to the Minds-In-Motion room!  We especially needed to move our bodies after a tiny bit of candy.

Snuggling up with Mrs. Karen for reading time is one of our favorites.
