A-P-P-L-E!

A-P-P-L-E!  A-P-P-L-E!  A-P-P-L-E, an apple just for me!  Ask your child to sing one of our favorite songs to the tune of B-I-N-G-O.  When singing this song, we learned how to spell apple!  This week was great fun as we began the fall season learning about apples.  The kids are really trying to cute with scissors at school.  It is a very hard task to master, but they are doing great!  We learned about the letter "A" this week and the sounds it makes.  We also tasted three different colors of apples; red, yellow and green and each child shared which apple they liked the most.  We then made a classroom chart showing the most popular apple.  Our classroom favorite was green.  We learned that there are several parts of an apple.  Ask your child to show you the seeds, flesh, skin, leaf and stem of an apple.  We painted apple prints using apple halves and Mrs. Kelly made us each an apple lacing card so that we can practice lacing the apple at home!  You will also find an apple “Memory” game in your child’s folder.  This is just a fun game you can keep at home to play with.  We sang “Apples and Bananas” and “Anna’s Apples” this week, which was so much fun because we have an “Anna” in our class!  We read Little Mouse and The Big Red Apple and Apple Trouble, which were two funny books.  A special thanks goes to Dane and his family for providing home made applesauce and home grown apples for snack this week!  They were so yummy!
REMEMBER... THERE IS NO SCHOOL NEXT WEEK!  HAPPY FALL BREAK!

The class enjoyed tasting all of the apples.

One of our favorite things to do at school is paint!

The sensory table was filled with all kinds of fall things!

Way to go Campbell!  You found an "A"!

Anna and Jayda love the writing center.
Here they are practicing how to cut.

Hunter is doing a great job tracing the word "red".

Check out these smart students working on
their cutting skills!

Look at how well we play together!

Firefighter Charlotte is taking a break
to paint with Mrs. Crystal.

Cool, Sarah!  That is a very high tower you built!

I just love these sweet smiling faces at school!

We loved our snack today!
Dane brought homemade applesauce!  Yum!

Thank you Dane!  It sure was yummy!

We love apples!

It's learning center time!

Look!  We made the letter "A" using our bodies!

We sang the song, "Anna Loves Apples", which was so much fun because we have an "Anna" in our class!  Anna was such a great dancer and singer while we sang the song together.

Then, everyone joined in the fun and
we danced to the song again.

Check out our huge apple stickers with the letter "A"!

We were so excited to learn with Mrs. Angela on Friday so that Mrs. Crystal could spend some time at her sons' school.  Thank you Mrs. Angela for learning with us!

Anna is still smiling with that apple.  School is so fun.

Wow, we even painted with apples!

The apples became a little slippery and messy, so we decided to try using a stick to hold them instead.
It worked!

Mrs. Angela and Campbell are learning about
the different parts of an apple.

Anna found the "A" on the letter board!

Great job Campbell!  You wrote an "A" on the white board!

Wow, Anna found two "A"s!!!

Ben and Campbell are working together to make "A"s.

Look at Mason!  He found a triangle in our classroom
that looks like an "A"!  Cool!

Even superheros love preschool!

Jack found the "A" in our alphabet floor puzzle!
Super job Jack!

Don't forget that next week (October 11-12)
is fall break!  We will not have school.
Enjoy the break and we will
see you on October 18th!
